Bybit Fintech FZE has secured an active Virtual Asset Service Provider license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) for Exchange Services, covering spot trading. The regulator’s public register lists the license under reference VL/26/10/003 and permits the entity to serve retail, qualified and institutional investors. The approval gives Bybit a regulated pathway to expand its crypto exchange services in Dubai.

VARA’s register shows the license was issued on June 20, 2026, with Bybit’s principal place of business at Dubai World Trade Centre. The authorization is a full VASP license rather than an in-principle approval, meaning the entity has cleared the licensing stage required to conduct regulated exchange activity. Dubai remains outside the jurisdiction of the Dubai International Financial Centre, which has a separate regulatory framework.

Bybit has not yet begun the newly authorized spot trading service in Dubai and must complete VARA’s launch process and remaining operational requirements before going live. The next milestone is therefore operational activation, not another licensing decision. No launch date has been disclosed, making the start of customer-facing services the main development to watch following the regulatory approval.
