TL;DR:

  • Moca Foundation and Moca Network launched Moca Chain mainnet, a Layer 1 designed for privacy-preserving digital identity across users, businesses and AI agents.
  • AIR lets organizations issue and verify reusable credentials while users retain custody and control over what identity information they share.
  • The network also gives AI agents scoped permissions, allowing businesses to verify agent identity, ownership and authorization as autonomous commerce expands across digital services and payment systems.

Moca Foundation and Moca Network have launched the Moca Chain mainnet, a Layer 1 built around privacy-preserving digital identity for users, businesses and AI agents. In the official announcement, Animoca Brands said the network lets organizations issue verifiable credentials while users keep custody of their identity data. The design aims to reduce repeated KYC without forcing people to hand over the same sensitive documents to every platform. AIR, Moca Network’s identity, payments and loyalty layer, is already running on the chain.

Moca Chain Brings Private Identity to Users and AI Agents

Moca Chain lets financial platforms, telcos, retailers and ticketing services verify users and issue tamper-proof credentials under a unified digital identity. Applications receive a certified confirmation of a user’s status instead of a copy of the underlying documentation. The model shifts identity from repeated document sharing toward selective disclosure controlled by the user. That approach extends the decentralized identity framework used in Moca Network’s Biletinial integration, where verifiable credentials support ticketing and reputation.

AIR works in both directions. Companies can turn existing customer checks into credentials on Moca Chain or accept credentials issued by trusted partners, reducing duplicated onboarding. Updates and revocations are reflected across the network, so applications can detect changes without requesting full documents again. The system is designed to make identity portable while limiting how much personal information businesses need to store. A similar idea underpins Anime ID on Moca Network, where identity and reputation move across applications.

AI agents are a core target. AIR gives users control over agent permissions and authorization rules, allowing businesses to verify an agent’s identity, its human owner and specific permitted actions. That becomes important as autonomous software starts shopping, booking services and making payments on behalf of users. The model intersects with the shift toward programmable authorization for AI agents, where agents operate under defined limits rather than unrestricted wallet access.

Moca Network says its ecosystem includes SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen. The mainnet launch turns Moca Chain from a planned identity layer into live infrastructure for interoperable credentials, payments and rewards. Its next challenge will be proving that businesses adopt the system at scale while users retain meaningful control over data sharing. That test will matter as AI agents demand identity and payment rails across an increasingly automated web.
