The design allows activities reserved for traditional exchanges—continuous trading, margin, liquidations, funding—to occur in a verifiable environment. Competition with TradFi is not narrative. Competition is market architecture.

My conclusion is Hyperliquid will not replace traditional finance in the short term. Convergence is more likely. Exchanges adopt 24/7 hours. Index providers license on-chain products. Regulators discuss unified frameworks.

The crypto sector should read Hyperliquid as evidence: market infrastructure can be built with verifiable rules, on-chain settlement, and permissionless derivatives creation. The sector should also read the limits: regulatory compliance, validator security, oracle quality, and governance.

Competitive advantage is not the token. Competitive advantage is not the narrative. Competitive advantage is the capacity to operate continuous markets with low costs and transparent settlement. If the crypto sector wants to compete with TradFi, the sector must prioritize financial infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and verifiable transparency.

Hyperliquid advances in the direction. Real risks remain. Pressure already forces incumbents to modify rules. The discussion for the sector is not whether Hyperliquid is bullish or bearish. The discussion is whether the industry can sustain on-chain markets with institutional standards.
