Solana’s real-world asset ecosystem has reached $4 billion in total value, according to a Solana post published on August 23. The figure arrives just days after validators activated the first stage of SIMD-0525, reducing target slot times from 400 milliseconds to 350 milliseconds at epoch 1020.

The timing links two important developments for the network. RWA activity is expanding across tokenized financial products, while Solana is lowering latency to make high-frequency on-chain activity more practical. Solana Compass data showed average user throughput of 1,710 transactions per second during the six days before the upgrade, with compute utilization at 27.7% of the previous block ceiling.
Solana RWA Ecosystem Gains Momentum
Data cited by Motley Fool showed Solana recorded $263 million in RWA inflows during the 30 days through August 19, compared with $337 million in outflows for Ethereum. Solana’s RWA market grew 10.6% over that period, while Ethereum’s growth was 1.3%.
Tokenized U.S. Treasuries represented about $1.2 billion of Solana’s RWA total, rising 16.1% during the same period. Backed Finance’s xStocks platform has also expanded the range of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs available as SPL tokens, with products accessible through Solana-based venues including Raydium, Jupiter and Kamino.
Ethereum still maintained a much larger RWA base at roughly $17.2 billion as of August 22. Solana’s $4 billion figure therefore does not make it the largest network for tokenized assets, but it demonstrates how quickly its tokenization market is expanding.
Faster Infrastructure Supports Tokenization
SIMD-0525 divides the move toward faster slots into four stages, from 400ms to 350ms, then 300ms, 250ms and 200ms. Each stage requires validator approval and a stability period before activation. Solana’s official upgrade documentation says the lower slot times are designed to improve latency and make the network more competitive.
The proposal also adjusts per-slot compute limits as block intervals fall, keeping overall compute capacity broadly aligned with the existing network rate. This means faster slots do not simply multiply execution capacity by the same factor.
The distinction between slot time and finality also matters. Solana’s current TowerBFT consensus has finality around 12.8 seconds, while the upcoming Alpenglow redesign targets roughly 150ms median finality in simulations. Solana lists Agave 4.3, which includes Alpenglow, as planned for October 2026.
