TL;DR

  • WorldClaw offers access to 43 Chinese AI models, including systems from Alibaba, Baidu, Z.ai, DeepSeek and Moonshot.
  • The Hong Kong platform accepts World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin, creating a direct commercial link with the Trump-backed crypto venture.
  • The arrangement has drawn scrutiny over U.S. national-security concerns, although both companies say their relationship does not create a conflict of interest.

Trump-backed World Liberty Financial is facing renewed scrutiny after Reuters reported a connection with WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-based platform that provides access to artificial intelligence models developed by Chinese companies targeted by U.S. authorities. The relationship also puts USD1, World Liberty’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, at the center of the business model.

World Liberty And The Chinese AI Connection

WorldClaw lists around 90 AI models on its routing platform, with 43 developed by Chinese companies, according to Reuters. Its catalogue includes Alibaba, Baidu, Z.ai, DeepSeek and Moonshot, alongside U.S. providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

Several Chinese developers in the catalogue have attracted specific U.S. government restrictions. The Pentagon has designated Alibaba and Baidu as Chinese military-affiliated companies, while Z.ai remains on the Commerce Department’s Entity List. U.S. officials have also raised allegations involving DeepSeek and Moonshot, although Moonshot has rejected accusations concerning intellectual property.

The platform says users can pay with USD1, World Liberty’s dollar-pegged stablecoin. WorldClaw also states that it operates independently from World Liberty Financial, separating the two businesses formally despite their reported links.

USD1 Adds A Crypto Payment Layer

The connection gives USD1 a practical use case beyond conventional stablecoin trading. WorldClaw says its platform serves more than 10,000 users and processes over 50 million tasks daily, with demand partly driven by the lower cost of Chinese AI models.

World Liberty’s Trump family ownership makes the arrangement politically sensitive. Reuters reported that the Trump family owns 38% of World Liberty and has received more than $1.4 billion from its crypto ventures. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have also promoted WorldClaw, while World Liberty executive Ryan Fang previously served as an adviser to the platform.

From a crypto perspective, the arrangement illustrates how stablecoins can become payment infrastructure for digital services rather than remaining primarily tools for trading and transfers. USD1’s use on an AI platform also shows how blockchain-based dollars can connect financial transactions with rapidly expanding technology markets.

Security concerns remain. Experts cited by Reuters warned that users could face risks involving surveillance or malicious code, while WorldClaw says information submitted through its services may be shared with the companies operating the selected models.
