Spark, the decentralized savings protocol within the MakerDAO ecosystem, announced the integration of USDT0 into its Spark Savings platform on Arbitrum, completing its savings infrastructure, which now covers the three largest stablecoins by market capitalization: USDC, USDS and USDT.

The novelty is not simply the addition of USDT as a supported asset, but the specific adoption of USDT0, Tether’s omnichain implementation built on LayerZero’s OFT standard, which allows liquidity to move natively across Ethereum, Arbitrum and other compatible networks without fragmenting liquidity or introducing additional trust assumptions compared to traditional bridges.

With this addition, Spark Savings on Arbitrum now covers more than 90% of the total stablecoin supply on the network, according to data from DefiLlama. Users already operating with USDT on Arbitrum can deposit directly into the spUSDT vault, an ERC-4626 vault that issues a savings token transferable and composable with other DeFi applications, with no need to migrate to Ethereum or switch assets.

The integration follows the same standard design as the already available USDC and USDS vaults, offering wallets, treasury platforms and developers a consistent interface for incorporating savings across multiple stablecoins from a single integration model.
