Asset manager Grayscale filed a key amendment with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch its own exchange-traded fund, named the Grayscale Hyperliquid Staking ETF under the ticker HYPG. This Monday, Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart noted that the product’s arrival in the U.S. market is imminent and projects its commercial debut for this very week.

The new financial instrument will compete directly in the growing DeFi derivatives ecosystem by setting a sponsor fee of 0.29%. This percentage strategically positions the firm just below rivals like 21Shares (0.30%) and Bitwise (0.34% after its first-month exemption), attracting institutional capital toward the native token HYPE, whose on-chain perpetual contracts market has consolidated a market capitalization of $16.1 billion.

With cumulative net inflows surpassing $132 million last month, the sector now awaits final approval from the SEC. The next regulatory step will define the active participation structure of these institutional funds within the underlying network.
