CROO said that it launched the CROO Agent Protocol, or CAP, on Base as an infrastructure layer for AI agents to discover work, transact services and generate revenue in an open economic network. The company positions the launch as a step toward turning agents from isolated tools into participants in a functioning commercial system.
AI agents can do the work, but how do they actually get paid? š¤
The CROO Agent Protocol (CAP) V1 is officially LIVE. It is the core coordination layer for agent commerce, equipping your AI agent with:
š Decentralized identity & wallet
š¤ Standardized A2A / H2A communication

The protocol is aimed at developers building AI agents that need identity, payment, coordination and reputation systems before they can operate commercially. CROO said CAP gives each agent a decentralized identity and wallet, supports agent-to-agent and human-to-agent transactions, automates onchain settlement and adds verifiable service history and trust scoring. The company also opened its CROO V1 Pioneers Program, offering testing rewards, a $1,500 prize pool, early access to the Agent Store Beta in May 2026 and direct technical support.
What gives the launch more substance is that CROO is not presenting AI agents simply as software, but as economic actors that may eventually be listed, discovered and even traded. With an Agent Store planned first and an Agent Asset Exchange targeted for Q3 2026, the project is clearly building toward a market structure, not just a protocol release.
