Institutional investors will have the possibility of cryptocurrency options trading because of a recent collaboration between TradingScreen and Deribit. MARKTS is a subsidiary to TradingScreen is a system for managing cryptocurrency order and execution (OEMS) and is the main element to the recent partnership.
It is a cloud-based software-as-a-service platform that provides various trading tools for investors. Deribit cryptocurrency options exchange now will use the MARKTS platform to let institutional investors trade cryptocurrency options.
The recent volatility in markets and the rise of interest toward bitcoin after halving makes it logical for investment institutions to enter the cryptocurrency market. But they need a reliable platform to invest in cryptocurrencies and especially options.
“Deribit, which owns around 70% of the open interest of the BTC crypto options market and approximately 80% of the traded options volume, will connect directly into TradingScreen’s all asset class OEMS solution. The connectivity allows institutional investors to not only buy and sell crypto derivatives but also manage their risk and downside,” according to Deribit.
Improving trust in the cryptocurrency market is the primary goal of the partnership between TradingScreen and Deribit. Institutional investors are currently assessing this new market, and any failure in answering their needs can be dreadful. But adding the advanced risk management and powerful trading engines from Deribit to the new collaboration decreases some of the risks.
“Our collaboration with Deribit meets rising client demand to trade crypto options. As a multi-asset platform, it is pivotal that we continue to aggregate high-end connectivity for our clients,” said Alex Carteau, Head of MARKTS at TradingScreen, abut the recent partnership.
TradingScreen works with many institutional investors now. Their client base consists of big names with considerable holdings. Integrating services with Deribit lets that platform get access to this valuable user base.
“The new integration with TradingScreen is one less hurdle for institutional investors who want to enter the crypto derivatives market. We are very happy to see that the vast TS institutional buy-side client base is now able to trade on Deribit using their trusted OEMS in an uncomplicated manner,” said John Jansen, CEO at Deribit.
