Wemade announced today the formation of the Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoins (GAKS), a consortium created with Chainalysis, CertiK, and SentBe to support StableNet, a dedicated mainnet for Korean won-backed stablecoins. According to the company, the initiative aims to meet institutional and regulatory standards through publicly released code and a consortium-based governance model.

As part of the partnership, Chainalysis will integrate real-time monitoring and threat-detection tools, while CertiK will oversee node validation and conduct security audits. SentBe will provide licensed remittance infrastructure across 174 countries, enabling the KRW stablecoin initiative to operate within South Koreaās regulated digital asset framework.
The company noted that this strategic pivot follows a period of rapid expansion and regulatory challenges surrounding its WEMIX token, which faced multiple delistings and trust erosion. According to reporting cited from Korea Times, Wemade is developing a won-focused stablecoin mainnet but will avoid becoming the issuer itself, positioning instead as a technology provider and consortium builder for other South Korean companies.
