Discussion around Dogecoin’s near-term price outlook intensified this week after Grayscale submitted a filing for the Grayscale Dogecoin Trust ETF (GDOG). If approved, the product would offer regulated exposure to DOGE without requiring direct ownership of the token.

Separately, some market commentary has also pointed to early-stage utility-focused token projects, including Remittix, though details and timelines discussed publicly may change.

DOGE ETF Filing Sparks Short-Term Rally

According to the filing, Coinbase Custody would safeguard the ETF’s assets, and shares would be issued in baskets of 10,000, settled in U.S. dollars. The fund would passively track the CoinDesk Dogecoin Reference Rate and would not use leverage or derivatives.

After the filing became public, DOGE moved from $0.22395 to $0.22976 (about 2.5%). DOGE was also up 14.65% over the prior month at the time referenced; past price moves do not indicate future performance.

ETF Competition Puts DOGE in the Spotlight

Grayscale is not alone in pursuing a Dogecoin ETF. Bitwise and REX-Osprey also have filings pending with the SEC. While some details, such as tickers and fees, have not been disclosed, the applications indicate growing interest in DOGE-linked investment products. Any approval timeline and final terms remain uncertain and subject to SEC review.

Grayscale’s filing also lists risks, including DOGE’s price volatility, regulatory uncertainty, and competition with other digital assets. These factors may affect market demand regardless of whether an ETF is ultimately approved.
