Animoca Brands Collaborates with Paris Hilton to Launch Metaverse Dating Show “Parisland”

Web3 gaming giant, Animoca Brands, has just unveiled “Parisland”, a romantic metaverse experience in The Sandbox, featuring American socialite, Paris Hilton.

The Hiltons seem obsessed with crypto and Web3. The famous American television personality has been dabbling with digital assets for quite some time now. In 2018, Rick Hilton, father of Paris Hilton, held a cryptocurrency auction to sell a $38 million Roman mansion.

In 2021, Paris Hilton hosted a party in the  New Year’s Eve to celebrate the launch of her “Paris World”, in the Roblox metaverse.  Previously, the social magnate had also collaborated with fashion designer Blake Kathryn to launch her own collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

Paris Hilton Plays Cupid

On February 10, Paris took to Twitter to announce Parisland, a gamified experience which is being promoted as an “imaginary reality show” in the metaverse. The brand-new show will be a cross between a game and an interactive TV Show. The reality show will start on February 13 will allow participants to virtually meet five other players, complete quests, and ultimately choose a partner.

In addition, users can enjoy s host of other features including shopping for outfits, selecting wedding rings and finding the secret of the chef’s famed Love Burger. Paris tweeted,

“Get ready to party on the beach, pick up cute collectibles and explore my newest tropical Parisland metaverse.”

Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of Sandbox, said the virtual tropical island has been designed to build genuine relationships and connections between players and participants. He further explained the metaverse will offer a unique and immersive experience enabling players to immerse themselves in a virtual environment, customize their appearance, and connect with others who share their interests and hobbies. Borget added,

“I can’t think of a better way to light up the winter months than a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway to Paris Hilton’s tropical island in the metaverse.”

Metaverse Dating Shoots Up

Metaverse dating has picked up pace over the past few months with several apps and websites connecting potential love interestn from all across the world. According to a new survey, people looking for love continue to turn to technology, with nearly 33% of singles planning to date in the metaverse.

Several applications such as Planet Theta, VR Chat and NeverMet among others are revolutionizing the metaverse dating experience where couples can go on dates in various virtual settings, including coffee shops and bars. The platforms also allow individuals to take their partners to exotic places like Greece or Japan.
