Bank of Montreal Reveals XRP Fund Exposure in New $303B Portfolio Disclosure

Bank of Montreal (BMO), Canada’s second-largest bank, disclosed XRP-related ETF positions in its latest U.S. portfolio filing, according to regulatory data reported through the SEC’s Form 13F system. The disclosure places XRP-linked investment products inside a portfolio valued at more than $303 billion as of the end of June 2026.

The reported exposure includes 323 shares of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF. Rather than holding XRP directly, BMO accessed the asset through regulated exchange-traded products, reflecting how traditional financial institutions can gain crypto exposure without directly managing tokens or private keys. The REX-Osprey fund is designed to provide exposure to XRP’s performance. This structure also gives banks a familiar investment vehicle while allowing them to participate in the expanding digital-asset market through established financial infrastructure.

The disclosure adds to growing institutional access to XRP through regulated markets. 13F filings provide a delayed snapshot, so investors will need to watch future filings for changes in BMO’s positions and whether other major banks report similar exposure. Further disclosures could offer a clearer picture of how financial institutions are incorporating XRP-related products into broader portfolios.
