He tweeted about the hack that has resulted in more than a $1 Million loss for him. The hacker has moved some valuable NFTs, and the Etherscan also shows the transfer of some valuable NFTs in this exploit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Arthur announced the hack in a tweet, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">saying<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Well not sure what happened, need to take time to figure it out. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/txs?a=0xe47e8cd58c8e95f765e642d7dcb898f622cefa83\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Etherscan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of this exploit shows about five CloneX NFTs were transferred from Arthur&#8217;s wallet to the hacker&#8217;s wallet. Arthur himself didn&#8217;t think a bit that it may happen to him, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The hacker has used a social <strong>engineering attack method<\/strong>. The email sent to Arthur seems completely legit and contains general-industry content. The hacker surely has studied <strong>DeFience Capital&#8217;s<\/strong> behavior and interest and has designed a very clever <strong>email containing a phishing link.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The link in the phishing address contained a <strong>PDF file that seemingly let the hacker exploit Arthur&#8217;s addresses<\/strong>. Anyhow, the hack has resulted in more than a <strong>$1Million loss<\/strong> for this crypto investor. It again shows the importance of security precautions were opening links and generally behaving in the online world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46024\" src=\"https:\/\/crypto-economy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/email.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"699\" height=\"373\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Today, many people hold cryptocurrencies and NFTs in their <a href=\"https:\/\/crypto-economy.com\/best-bitcoin-wallet-for-windows-2022\/\">hot wallets<\/a>. These wallets are somehow safe because of offering a <strong>private key to the user<\/strong>, but they&#8217;re still vulnerable because of being connected to the internet. If one user isn&#8217;t careful enough in opening links and entering passwords, they may lose their held assets in hot wallets, just like what happened to <strong>Arthur Cheong<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Many experts suggest using cold wallets<\/strong> like hardware wallets for holding digital assets that you don&#8217;t trade occasionally.<strong> These wallets are safer because of being disconnected from the internet<\/strong>.
