This change will take effect on #Cardano mainnet at epoch boundary 328 today, 21 March at UTC 21:44:51.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Cardano Scaling Plans For 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In January 2022, Input Output <a href=\"https:\/\/iohk.io\/en\/blog\/posts\/2022\/01\/14\/how-we-re-scaling-cardano-in-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> its plans to bring a series of optimizations and increases to the Cardano network capacity to cope with <strong>upcoming demand<\/strong>. All these network parameter updates and optimizations are the part <strong>Cardano roadmap\u2019s Basho era<\/strong> that focuses on optimization, improving the scalability and interoperability of the network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As Crypto Economy <a href=\"https:\/\/iohk.io\/en\/blog\/posts\/2022\/01\/14\/how-we-re-scaling-cardano-in-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>, as part of the plan, the first network upgrade came in February in which Cardano blockchain protocol saw its <strong>block size increased by 8KB<\/strong>, from <strong>72KB to 80KB<\/strong>. This network parameter upgrade also increased the number of Plutus script memory units per transaction on the Cardano mainnet from <strong>12.5M to 14M.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22588 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/crypto-economy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/inputoutput-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"inputoutput\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In subsequent network upgrades, <strong>Plutus<\/strong>, a smart contract platform of the Cardano blockchain that allows to write applications that interact with the Cardano blockchain, was further <strong>optimized to support script memory units of 56M<\/strong>. In the latest network optimization, Plutus script memory units limit has been increased by 6M to <strong>62M<\/strong> that will provide additional resources for Plutus scripts to improve the <strong>DApp<\/strong> user experience while increasing overall network capacity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Now the upgrade is complete, <strong>the Input Output team said that it would carefully monitor the network for at least five day<\/strong>, the duration of an epoch.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83c\udf33Once deployed, we&#39;ll monitor carefully for at least one epoch (5 days) before assessing any further adjustment.
